Kerryn Batten, Executive Director

Kerryn is a highly experienced governance, risk and compliance professional with experience across the financial services, government and corporate sectors.

Kerryn is a Chartered Accountant Fellow, a FINSIA Fellow, and a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course and Boardroom Mastery course.

Kerryn commenced her professional career with the federal Department of Finance in Canberra as a graduate before moving back to Western Australia to join its Treasury department. She subsequently built on her skills and experience in a career that includes risk and governance consulting with KPMG, national head of risk for Wesfarmers Federation Insurance and principal analyst with the financial services regulator, the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). She has been a successful executive leader of corporate services functions including finance, HR, IT, procurement and strategy, across local and state governments.

Most recently, Kerryn has held executive leadership roles with the Northern Territory Government (2019-2021) and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (2021 – 2023).

In a non-executive director capacity, Kerryn has held or holds the following roles:

·      Independent member (and former Chair), Charles Darwin University Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee

·      Independent member, Governance, Finance and Risk Committee, Perth Football Commission

·      Independent member, City of Darwin Risk Management and Audit Committee

·      Chair of the Australia Day Council of WA

·      Director and Finance Committee Chair of the East Fremantle Football Club

·      Director of Swimming WA, and

·      State council member, FINSIA.

Kerryn currently lives in Darwin. In her personal life, Kerryn has two sons, both active members of their communities, a daughter in law and a gorgeous young grandson. She stays physically active by among other things, playing golf (badly) and Pilates, and has an interest in politics and economics, which drives a lot of reading in her spare time.
