Sunayana Tonks, Executive Director

Sunayana is an accomplished Chief Risk Officer and senior executive with extensive experience across the financial services sector, specialising in risk management, compliance, strategy development, audit, dispute resolution, and governance. She has built a strong reputation for leading complex regulatory changes, strengthening organisational resilience, and cultivating trusted relationships with regulators and stakeholders.

A Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, Sunayana brings over 20 years of diverse experience to her executive and board roles.  

In addition to her executive career, Sunayana contributes to the community through several board positions where she provides governance, risk, and compliance expertise. Her Board background spans education, disability services, and community organisations, reflecting her commitment to safe, inclusive, and well‑governed environments.

Sunayana holds an MBA in International Business, an LLB, and a Bachelor of Arts, combining legal, commercial, and behavioural insights to support effective organisational decision‑making. She is widely recognised for her leadership, strategic thinking, and dedication to strong governance cultures.
